Biography

Francisco holds a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Physics from the University of Porto (Portugal), a shared program between the Faculty of Science and the Faculty of Engineering. As an intern, he worked on smart product conception involving embedded intelligence, encompassing both hardware and software aspects. Currently, he is enrolled in the Engineering Physics Master’s program, with a specialized focus on intelligent systems and data analysis. Francisco is joining the Menzel Lab for his Master’s thesis project, where he will be working on software-related tasks regarding the ComSLI data. His tasks will involve studying the scattering patterns and the resulting line profiles to later apply machine learning algorithms to reconstruct nerve fiber structures; leveraging pattern recognition to enhance the understanding of these complex structures.
