Biography

Hamed received his PhD magna cum laude in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Basel (Switzerland) in 2020. In 2021, he started working at the Erasmus Medical Center in Rotterdam (Netherlands) on photonics-guided surgery, combining fluorescence-guided surgery and Raman spectroscopy to improve the surgical removal of oral cancer. Since March 2023, he jointly works at Erasmus MC and TU Delft (Imaging Physics) as postdoctoral researcher, exploring clinical applications of Computational Scattered Light Imaging in the Menzel lab. Hamed is an expert in a wide variety of biophotonics instrumentation and is skilled in biomedical imaging, spectroscopy, and multivariate data analysis.
