Biography
Simon holds a Master’s degree in Nanobiology from Delft University of Technology (Netherlands). During his Bachelor, he worked on the development of a cell nucleus segmentation algorithm with Correlative Light Electron Microscopy (CLEM) inputs, as well as a large-scale flow speed analysis of Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi networks as an intern at AMOLF. Simon joined the Menzel lab for his Master’s thesis, in which he worked on the formation and applications of scattering patterns in ComSLI. Since June, he has been working as research assistant in the group to further improve the interpretation of scattering patterns, amongst others by analyzing 3D-nanoprinted tissue phantoms and by combining ComSLI with Fourier ptychography to achieve high-resolution tissue images.
